Welcome to the alpha testers site for ImportantGifts.org
This site is in pre-release. It doesn't yet have full functionality, and much of the styling remains to be done. We know. We just need your help testing functionality and stability.
In particular:
- you cannot yet make an actual donation;
- you cannot yet order a greeting card;
- you cannot yet send an email invitation.
Mum's the Word
We only want testers, for now. Please do not blog about the site or link to it. First impressions are important, and we don't want non-testers to see it until it's fully working and beautiful. You can (and we hope you will) invite others soon.
What to Do
Clicking the 'continue' button below will take you to a screen to log in with the alpha user name and password you received. (If you want to test and did not receive an alpha user name and password, please apply at www.ImportantGifts.org).
This just gets you access to the system, so we can keep out non-testers. If you have not already done so when you add a gift to your shopping cart, to your wish list or to your registries, it will prompt you to log in. Don't use the alpha again. Rather, register with a new screen name and password.
Please look around. Add gift items to your wish list. Create registries. Add things to it. Add favorite celebrities (a database of deceased celebs lets us test functionality as we sign up our supporters). Add favorite causes. Comment on things you add. Vote on Stupid Gifts. Add your own. Have fun.
Bugs
You will certainly find bugs. That's what this process is for. Don't be surprised; don't be aggravated; and don't think or say nasty things about us. Again, it's alpha.
When you do find bugs, please use the Feedback form (see the link on the upper right corner of most pages) to let us know exactly what you find so we can fix them. Please include the following so we know exactly what the problem is:
- What is the URL (web address) of the web page where you had the problem.
- What caused the problem and what happened?
